Finding out your horses bit size

One of the simpliest and most effective method to measure the size you require, is to tie a knot in the ned of a piece of twine and place it in the horses mouth so that the knot is touching the corner of the horse's lips. Making sure you don't you don't pull it to tight - you want it even with the surface of the lips.

Grab the string on the opposite side at the corner of the hors's mouth and hold or mark the string at a point evenen with the outer surface of the lips. The distance between the knot and your mark will be the horse's bit size.
